We tend to live in concepts, and Octavia Butler’s Earthseed isn’t a conceptual invitation: it is about the here, and the now, and how to be participants in co-creating our lives in such a way as we co-create empowering change for ourselves.
…embodiment is brave work, and, bravery is generative, allowing us to be generative humans co-creating this life together
I am grateful for spaces and places that allow for words to come.
Words which help me to process and fall into the embodiment of love first.
My heart had been burning for days, and thank goodness my dreams like to help me process while I’m asleep.
At first I went to my head, as would be predictable for me- as if my thoughts could solve what was arising.
Eventually I remembered that I was safe to feel. And feel I did. And there it was: my fear of being alone in the world.
Some understanding of what it is to be a human being, and especially a human being in relationship with others, has changed since I began MIE. And, this learning extends and expands out into the community context. It is slowly and steadily sinking into my system that there are humans that I can be with without having to mask, without having to keep it together for everyone, and without having to feel embarrassed about being cringe when I feel deeply.
It can be powerful to connect with what we are willing to release, what we are opening to receive, and perhaps what we would like to deepen into. Doing so may reveal opportunities and possibilities that had previously been just out of our attention. Tapping into the Wisdom that is ready for us to hear and remember allows us to be to be conscious empowered participants on this planet.
Over the course of MIE, I’ve so clearly witnessed the impact of these simple practices and this welcoming community, strengthening my tolerance for change and expanding my capacity to engage in a more peaceful and fulfilling daily life.
