Applications are now Available for the Matrix Integration Exploration 2024: Learn More

Rumi’s The Guest House is centered in every course I lead, so when I heard it this morning, it right into my heart.

In listening, I was reminded that more than any “thing”, my Matrix Integration Exploration teaches presence. Our ability to connect with ourselves and others, as well as life, comes from our relationship with presence, and so as change agents it is imperative that we know how to center presence.

There is nothing woo woo, spiritual, or conceptual about presence. Students discover presence using practices that:

  • engage with our neuroplasticity and nervous systems
  • reveal old hidden belief patterns
  • open us up to new realities found in somatic connection

Used in a container which offers safety and bravery, we use these practices together and learn with each other. We learn that we are on a journey of discovery, not perfection, and that presence is a part of that journey.

The Guest House, Rumi

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Thank you Rumi.
